The trailer for the romantic mystery drama "The Driftless Area" has been released. And it stars Zooey Deschanel as a mysterious young woman who rescues a wandering bartender (Star Trek's Anton Yelchin) after he accidentally stumbles into an abandoned well.

Realizing that he was on the brink of death, love-smitten Pierre (Yelchin) offers to repay his beautiful savior by promising her a great favor. Which leaves Stella (Deschanel) with no choice but to reveal her darkest secret: she was murdered in a fire and now wants Pierre to find her killer so she can finally rest in peace.

Based on the novel of the same name by Tom Drury, who also co-adapted the screenplay along with first-time director Zachary Sluser, "The Driftless Area" will be available on DVD and VOD on April 26th. And it also stars John Hawkes, Alia Shawkat, Aubrey Plaza, Ciarán Hinds, and Frank Langella.

synopsis:
Pierre Hunter (Anton Yelchin), a bartender with unyielding optimism, returns to his tiny hometown after his parents’ death. When he falls for the enigmatic Stella (Zooey Deschanel), Pierre is unknowingly pulled into a cat-and-mouse game that involves a duffel bag full of cash, a haphazard yet determined criminal (John Hawkes), and a mystery that will determine all of their fates.
