Currently playing at this year's Sundance Film Festival, here's the first international trailer for "Mammal," a darkly wrought drama that stars acclaimed Australian actress Rachel Griffiths (TV's Brothers & Sisters and Six Feet Under) as a troubled British woman who, while grieving the loss of her 18-year-old son, develops an unhealthy relationship with a homeless teen boy, played by up-and-coming Irish actor Barry Keoghan ('71).

The film, which also stars Michael McElhatton (perhaps best known these days for playing Roose Bolton on HBO's "Game of Thrones"), hails from Irish director Rebecca Daly (2011's "The Other Side of Sleep"), who co-wrote the script with her writing partner Glenn Montgomery.

"Mammal" just made its world premiere this past weekend at Sundance, and as of yet doesn't have an official release date.

synopsis:
Starring Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actress Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under, Muriel's Wedding) and rising Irish star Barry Keoghan (Love/Hate, ’71), MAMMAL is the compelling story of a woman (Griffiths) who has lost her son and develops an unorthodox relationship with a homeless youth (Keoghan). Their tentative trust is threatened by his involvement with a violent gang and the escalation of her ex-husband's grieving rage.
