Filmmakers/actors/brothers/producers Mark and Jay Duplass are tackling animation for the first time for their new HBO series, "Animals," which is revolving around the mundane lives of New York's most misunderstood creatures: pigeons, rats, insects, and other exotic and non-exotic house pets.

Picked up for two seasons, the 10-episode animated series was created by former New York advertising executives Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano, who also lead the show's voice cast, which includes the talents of Nick Kroll, Jessica Chastain, Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton, Jason Mantzoukas, Nathan Fielder, Matt Walsh, Steve Zissis, Adam Scott, Cobie Smulders, Molly Shannon, Kumail Najiani, Horatio Sanz, Zach Woods, Ben Schwartz, Eric Andre, Marc Maron, Mark Duplass and many more.

"Animals" premieres Friday, February 5th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano and produced by Duplass Brothers Television, "Animals" focuses on the downtrodden creatures native to Earth's least-habitable environment: New York City. Whether it's lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons or aging bedbugs in the midst of a midlife crisis, the awkward small talk, moral ambiguity and existential woes of non-human urbanites prove startlingly similar to our own.
