Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts (Far from the Madding Crowd) is a PTSD-afflicted, ex-special forces soldier-turned-bodyguard trying to protect Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) from a possible kidnapping attempt in the new international trailer for the slow-burning French thriller "Disorder."

Formerly known as "Maryland," the film follows Schoenaerts' character, Vincent, who has been assigned to guard the wife (Kruger) of a wealthy businessman. While her husband is gone for a business trip, Kruger's character, Jessie, takes the opportunity to throw an extravagant dinner party at her posh coastal estate. Vincent, a war veteran grappling with the effects of post-traumatic stress, does his best to keep his mind sharp and eyes peeled for any signs of trouble. Trouble, indeed, arrives when a couple of masked assailants break into the house and seemingly go after Jessie.

Co-written and directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Alice Winocour (Augustine), "Disorder" premiered to favorable reviews at last year's Cannes Film Festival. It's getting a theatrical release in the U.K. on March 25th with a U.S. release to follow.

synopsis:
Following a tour of duty, Special Services soldier Vincent (Matthias Schoenaerts) takes a job in security for a wealthy Lebanese businessman and his family. During a lavish party one night, at their luxurious "Maryland" villa, Vincent senses that something is amiss. When his employer is then urgently called away on business Vincent is left to ensure the safety of his wife Jessie (Diane Kruger) and their child. Suffering from post-traumatic stress, Vincent battles his own paranoia whilst clinging to the certainty that Jessie and her family are in immediate danger, unleashing a hell-bent determination to protect them at all costs.
