George Clooney can't catch a break. It seems that after he gets kidnapped in Coen brothers' new comedy "Hail, Caesar!," Clooney will then be forced at gunpoint to wear a bomb vest in the financial-themed thriller "Money Monster."
In a new international trailer, we see Clooney as Lee Gates, a Wall-Street whiz, who is also the shameless host of a financial advice TV show. When one of his disgruntled viewers (played by "Unbroken" star Jack O'Connell) sneaks onto the set with a loaded gun and a lofty mission to exposed a broken financial system, Gates suddenly finds himself at the center of a live-on-air hostage standoff.
Meanwhile, Gates' TV producer (played by Julia Roberts) is trying to keep things moving calmly and peacefully from inside the show's control room.
Co-starring Caitriona Balfe (TV's Outlander), Dominic West (TV's The Affair), and Giancarlo Esposito (TV's Breaking Bad), the movie is directed by Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster, who had recently helmed episodes for "Orange Is the New Black" and "House of Cards," but hasn't directed a feature film since 2011's Mel Gibson-starrer "The Beaver."
"Money Monster" is hitting theaters on May 13th.
