Check out the brand-new trailer for the highly-anticipated comic book-based action movie "Suicide Squad," which just debuted on the CW's Dawn of the Justice League Television Special.

Desperate times call for desperate measures in the DC Universe. When the world can no longer depend on its superheroes, they rely on a team of supervillains to do their dirty work. Led by their government handler Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), an anti-hero team-up of death-row super-villains are given the opportunity to have their sentences lightened by undertaking high-risk, black ops missions that are so dangerous that some may consider it suicide.

The incarcerated strike team includes Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Slipknot (Adam Beach) and Katana (Karen Fukahara). The team's latest mission has them going up against Batman's number one nemesis, The Joker (played by Jared Leto).

Written and directed by David Ayer ("Fury" and "End of Watch"), the film will somehow tie in with Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and will help continue to grow the latest big screen incarnation of the DC Universe.

"Suicide Squad" currently has its eye on an August 5th release.
