Writer-director Bernard Rose, of "Candyman" and "Immortal Beloved" fame, gives Mary Shelley's classic horror tale a modern-day makeover with this low-budget thriller "Frankenstein."

The film, set in present day Los Angeles, stars Danny Huston (Big Eyes, American Horror Story) as mad scientist Viktor Frankenstein and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Marvel's Jessica Jones) as Viktor's scientific partner and wife, Marie.

Meanwhile, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" star Xavier Samuel plays the synthetically-created monster known as "Adam," who, after being discarded and left for dead, finds himself wandering through the streets of LA. And after causing a stir among the locals, he makes his way back home to face his creator. It's one hell of a family reunion.

"Frankenstein" also stars "Candyman" actor Tony Todd and TV's "Man Seeking Woman" actress Maya Erskine. The film will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD next month, beginning Tuesday, February 23rd.

synopsis:
A modern day take on the classic tale by Mary Shelley. Frankenstein is set in present day Los Angeles and told entirely from the perspective of the Monster. After he is artificially created, then left for dead by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists, Adam is confronted with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him. This perfect creation-turned disfigured monster must come to grips with the horrific nature of humanity.
