It's the trailer that has everyone buzzing. Check out the very first preview for "10 Cloverfield Lane," the new secret film project from J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot, which appears to be a possible spin-off or sequel to the 2008 monster flick "Cloverfield."

Though formerly known as a J.J. Abrams-produced film project called "Valencia," the upcoming movie is now reported to be a "blood relative of Cloverfield," as Abrams revealed in a recent statement. "The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible," Abrams told exclusively to Collider.com.

Starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and "The Newsroom" actor John Gallagher Jr., "10 Cloverfield Lane" is said to be a three-character chamber thriller, in which Winstead's character is held against her will and forced to live in an underground bunker with two strangers: one with a gun (Goodman) and the other with a broken arm (Gallagher Jr.).

Exactly why they must never leave the bunker isn't disclosed in the above trailer. Though there are hints that the outside world is very dangerous -- possibly because a giant rampaging monster is attacking New York City. But at this point, with plot details still not yet revealed, we can't be certain that the "Cloverfield" monster will appear in the upcoming movie.

Based on a story by newcomers Josh Campbell and Matthew Stuecken who co-wrote the screenplay with "Whiplash" writer-director Damien Chazelle, "10 Cloverfield Lane" is the feature film debut of director Dan Trachtenberg, who is best known for helming the mega-popular videogame-based short film "Portal: No Escape." Trachtenberg is also known on the internet for co-hosting the geek-themed video podcast "The Totally Rad Show."

"10 Cloverfield Lane" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 11th.
