To the average person, one minute doesn't seem that long. But for former FBI agent Fox "Spooky" Mulder (David Duchovny), 60 seconds is all he needs to turn you into a believer.

Mulder crams a whole lot of information into this newly-released opening scene from "The X-Files" revival series, which is set to premiere this month. Yes, the clip (which was released on the website www.doyoustillbelieve.com) is only a minute long. But it does an excellent job of summarizing the history of the Chris Carter-created "X-Files" series, including Mulder's relationship with FBI partner Dana Scully -- played, of course, by Gillian Anderson.

He also reveals his personal fascination with the paranormal. You see, Mulder firmly believes his missing sister was abducted by aliens decades ago -- her case has never been solved, which has kept him obsessed with mysteries that cannot be explained by traditional logic.

The limited miniseries, which sadly only consist of six new episodes, will revolve around a brand-new "X-File" case that is stemming from another strange alien abduction. Plus, you can also expect to see Mulder and Scully investigating a bizarre incident concerning a lizard man that has been spotted by a couple of eye-witnesses.

FOX has scheduled a two-night "X-Files" premiere with the first hour-long episode to air on Sunday, January 24 and then the second to air on Monday, January 25. The series will then finish its run on Monday nights.

synopsis:
Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015.

THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases -- "X-Files" -- for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.
