Deadpool — New 30-Second Spot: 'Blatant Bachelor'

added: Tue, Jan 5th '16

Deadpool is reminding fans that his new movie will be released on Valentine's Day weekend in a new 30-second commercial that recently aired during the season opener of "The Bachelor."

"You're probably thinking, 'My boyfriend said this was a superhero movie.' Well, surprise! This is actually -- lucky you -- a looove story," Ryan Reynolds says as Deadpool in a specially made TV spot for "The Bachelor."

The film -- which is, in fact, coming out on February 12, two days shy of Valentine's Day -- tells the origins of a cancer-stricken mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds) who is miraculously cured by undergoing an off-the-books scientific experiment, which not only leaves him severely scarred, but with superhuman abilities and fast healing powers. When he realizes he had been set up and got his pregnant girlfriend ("Gotham" star Morena Baccarin) kidnapped, Wade becomes Deadpool, a wisecracking anti-superhero who sets out to exact revenge and save his "best girl" from his "worst enemy" (The Transporter Refueled's Ed Skrein).

Based upon Marvel Comics most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
