The final scene of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" required a secluded location that had to be both breathtaking and practical. Determined to curb the use of CG-created environments, director J.J. Abrams and his production team were fortunate to find a magical place that really existed off the coast of Ireland.

Watch a newly-released featurette that goes behind the scenes of the record-breaking blockbuster, in which Abrams and his crew talk about how they first discover the "Skellig Islands," a real-life location that will now be forever identified as a part of "Star Wars" history.

After breaking nearly every U.S. box office record, "The Force Awakens" heads into this week with its eye on Avatar, which is currently ranked as the highest grossing film of all-time. As soon as the weekend gets rolling, "The Force Awakens" should easily surpass Avatar's domestic record and be crowned as the new U.S. box-office champ.
