Gael Garcia Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle, Rosewater) is a Mexican immigrant who finds himself hunted by a crazed border patrol vigilante in the newly-released trailer for "Desierto," the cat-and-mouse thriller directed and co-written by Jonas Cuaron, who is the co-screenwriter of the Oscar-winning film "Gravity" and son of Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron.

"Watchmen" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan co-stars as the rifle-toting American extremist (possibly a Donald Trump supporter) who evidently feels the need to take the law into his own hands when it comes to securing the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Desierto" premiered in September at TIFF. It will be getting a theatrical release in 2016.

synopsis:
