The Boy — TV Spots

She may have survived the zombie apocalypse, but for the upcoming horror movie,"The Boy," "The Walking Dead" star Lauren Cohan faces another kind of resurrected evil: a demonic doll that is likely possessed by the spirit of a dead boy.

Here, Cohan plays a newly hired nanny who is paid to care for a creepy porcelain doll that unsettlingly serves as a disturbing replacement for a grieving elderly couple who had lost their 8-year-old son many years prior. She is to treat the doll like it was the couple's real child. A task that is not as easy as it sounds, judging by a batch of new TV commercials (watch them above).

Directed by "The Devil Inside" helmer William Brent Bell and co-stars Hellboy's Rupert Evans, Jim Norton, and Diana Hardcastle, "The Boy" is set to hit theaters on January 22nd.

Greta (Lauren Cohan) is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family's 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta's worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.
