Jennifer Lawrence is a struggling single mother who's come up with a life-changing invention. And Robert De Niro, playing her fault-finding father, doesn't "get it" in a newly-released international trailer for "Joy."

In director David O. Russell's latest drama, Lawrence plays a heightened version of Joy Mangano, the real-life Long Island woman who invented the "Miracle Mop," and -- after years of building a business from the ground up -- became a QVC mogul.

The new trailer shows Lawrence's Joy as a tough businesswoman who, despite having to deal with personal problems concerning her father (De Niro), mother (Virginia Madsen), sister (Elisabeth Rohm) and ex-husband (Edgar Ramirez), succeeds to launch a company with just her grit and grace.

Also co-starring Bradley Cooper as a QVC executive, "Joy" is hitting theaters this Friday, December 25th.
