FX has released the official trailer for the star-studded miniseries "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," which is taking viewers behind the scenes of what's been referred to as "the trial of the century."

The ten-episode drama, which is the first installment of a new anthology series from executive producer Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Scream Queens), is based on the 1997 book by CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.

The main cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as disgraced football star O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as famed OJ lawyer Robert Shapiro, Sarah Paulson as district attorney Marcia Clark, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" Cochran and David Schwimmer as OJ's friend and attorney Robert Kardashian.

Selma Blair, Connie Britton, Nathan Lane, Sterling K. Brown, Kenneth Choi, Billy Magnussen and Bruce Greenwood are also among the cast members who are playing key figures in the well-publicized murder trial, which concluded with the 1995 controversial acquittal of the former football star.

Written and created by the screenwriting team of Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (The People vs. Larry Flynt and Man on the Moon), the FX series, in which Murphy directs the first two episodes, is set to premiere on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

synopsis:
Based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin, the limited series is a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers. It explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.
