Tom Hiddleston trades in his Loki's horns and scepter for a cowboy hat and a guitar as he tackles the role of country music legend Hank Williams in the upcoming bio-pic "I Saw the Light."

Check out the first trailer for the upcoming drama, which traces the life and career of the Alabama-born singer-songwriter, known for his highly influential chart-topping sad songs as well as his long, hard battle with the bottle.

Hiddleston, who does all his own singing in the film, shares the screen with "Avengers" star Elizabeth Olsen, who portrays Hank's first wife, country singer/musician Audrey Mae Williams. Their troubled marriage appears to be the main focus of the movie, which ended badly for both of them.

"I Saw the Light" is written and directed by producer-turned-filmmaker Marc Abraham (Flash of Genius) and co-stars Bradley Whitford, Cherry Jones, Maddie Hasson, Wrenn Schmidt, and David Krumholtz
