Joy — 60-second TV Spot

added: Sun, Nov 29th '15

Now that her dystopian days are behind her, Jennifer Lawrence has moved on to a different sort of fight in her new movie "Joy," in which she once again teams up with director David O. Russell and reunites with her "Silver Linings Playbook" co-stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.

As a single mother who is trying to build a cleaning-product empire, Lawrence's "Joy" breaks into the male-dominated industry of infomercials where things can be as cutthroat and competitive as being in the arena of the Hunger Games.

And judging by a new 60-second commercial for the upcoming drama, the path to success is filled with various obstacles. But it's not like Joy is going to let a couple of roadblocks (which includes a failed marriage and her dysfunctional New Jersey parents) get in her way and stop her from pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a successful businesswoman.

Loosely based on the life of "Miracle Mop" inventor/mogul Joy Mangano, the film also stars Isabella Rossellini, Virginia Madsen, Edgar Ramirez and Diane Ladd. It's set to open on Christmas Day.

JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.
