Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens — New Full-Length Trailer

added: Mon, Oct 19th '15

The mystery surrounding the new "Star Wars" movie is becoming a little bit clearer as a brand-new full-length trailer for Episode VII: "The Force Awakens" has finally been unveiled. With Lucasfilm and Disney deliberately keeping things close to the vest, "Star Wars" fans have been waiting patiently for an extended preview in the hopes of analyzing each frame of new footage from the surefire blockbuster. Now the wait is officially over.

The latest eye-popping trailer, which made its broadcast debut during the halftime of ESPN's Monday Night Football game, offers quite a bit of new scenes involving the movie's main heroes: X-wing pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), lightsaber-wielding ex-stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega) and desert scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley). There's also new glimpses of some of the film's villains, including new shots of First Order commander Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). And, of course, the trailer contains several wonderful surprises, mainly concerning the original "Star Wars" cast: Harrison Ford's Han Solo and Chewbacca. Leia (Carrie Fisher) makes a very brief appearance, but Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker (like the newly-released poster) is mysteriously missing from the action.

As previously advertised, advanced "Star Wars" tickets have been placed on sale. And if early reports are to be believed, they're selling like hotcakes -- so, act accordingly.

"The Force Awakens," directed by J.J. Abrams from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi) and Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3), will be opening everywhere on December 18th.
