By the Sea — Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Angelina Jolie-Pitt is wearing multiple hats for her new film "By the Sea," which focuses on an unhappily married couple staying at a seaside resort in 1970s France. Angelina is the director, writer, producer and star. She is also acting opposite her husband, Brad Pitt, in their first movie together since 2005's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

But despite the subject matter (a troubled marriage on the verge of collapse), Angelina and Brad appear to be pretty happy at acting miserable. In a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the film, released by Vogue Magazine, the real-life power couple reveals that working together on the set has been a "loose" experience.

"We can experiment. We can play. And it's oddly a safer environment than any set I've been on before," Brad says in the above video. He also adds, "Absolutely challenging. One of the most challenging things I've taken on."

"By the Sea" opens on November 13th.

By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Brad Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Angelina Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Melanie Laurent) and Francois (Melvil Poupaud) and village locals Michel (Niels Arestrup) and Patrice (Richard Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.
