The first trailer has been released for "Race," an upcoming historical biopic about the legendary Olympic sprinter and long jumper Jesse Owens (portrayed by "Selma" actor Stephan James), who traveled to Nazi Germany for the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics and won four gold medals, shattering world records and destroying Hitler's racist theory of Aryan supremacy.

Directed by Emmy-winner Stephen Hopkins (The Life and Death of Peter Sellers) from a script written by "Frankie & Alice" scribes Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, "Race" also stars former SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis (in a dramatic role) as Owens' track-and-field coach at Ohio State University. Oscar winners William Hurt and Jeremy Irons and "Game of Thrones" actress Carice van Houten co-star.

"Race" will open in theaters on February 19, 2016.

Based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler's vision of Aryan supremacy. "Race" is an enthralling film about courage, determination, tolerance, and friendship, and an inspiring drama about one man's fight to become an Olympic legend.
