It was one of the breakout horror movies at Sundance this year. It even earned a Directing Award for first-time feature filmmaker Robert Eggers.

Now see what all the fuss is about by watching the newly-released trailer for "The Witch," the 17th-century-set psychological horror about a puritanical family of farmers who have just moved to a woodland area of New England when an ominous supernatural forest spirit seemingly kidnaps the group's youngest member.

The film, which stars Anya Taylor-Joy (BBC's Atlantis), Ralph Ineson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), is currently scheduled to screen next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will officially be released in theaters sometime in 2016.

New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. 'The Witch' is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil.
