Sicario — International Trailer

Benicio Del Toro is the "man who pulls the trigger" in the new international trailer for the Mexican drug-war thriller "Sicario," directed by acclaimed French-Canadian helmer Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Incendies).

Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin also star in this suspenseful action thriller, set in the shadowy world of America's war on drugs. Blunt plays an FBI agent who becomes the latest member of an elite U.S. drug enforcement team, which is led by a mysterious American mercenary (played by Brolin).

The team operates its business on the U.S.-Mexico border -- so everything is strictly off the record. That includes their association with a hardened Mexican hitman (Del Toro) who enigmatically acts as their off-the-books consultant and, if ordered, also serves as the team's attack dog.

"Sicario," which also stars Jeffrey Donovan, Jon Bernthal, and Victor Garber, got a rousing reception at this year's Cannes. It's now scheduled to screen at TIFF next month before getting an official theatrical rollout on September 18th in the U.S. and on October 9th in the UK.

In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. -- In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is enlisted by an elite government task force official (Josh Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past (Benicio Del Toro), the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
