Deadpool — Red Band Trailer

Marvel's favorite foul-mouthed anti-hero "Deadpool" will be back on the big screen next year in a more faithful adaptation of the beloved comic book. And the film's very first red band trailer has just been released online, following its broadcast debut on Conan.

Ryan Reynolds once again plays the infamous "Merc with a Mouth" in an all-new origin tale, which sees former Special Ops mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds) signing up for a drastic life-saving procedure that leaves him terribly scarred, but gifted with a longer lifespan and super-human healing abilities.

Visual effects artist Tim Miller (who had worked on "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") makes his directorial debut with the hotly-anticipated R-rated action film, which was only green-lit by the studio after a leaked online video of test footage invoked a boisterous response from comic book fans.

The movie also stars Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, and T.J. Miller, along with newcomers Brianna Hildebrand as the mutant "Negasonic Teenage Warhead," and Andre Tricoteuxand as the steel-skinned mutant powerhouse "Colossus."

"Deadpool" is set to hit theaters next Valentine's Day Weekend, February 12th, 2016.

Based upon Marvel Comics most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
