AMC's Fear the Walking Dead: Season 1 — Comic-Con Trailer

Okay, we are finally getting to see how the zombie outbreak affected the west coast. And no surprise, there is plenty of screaming and running.

Check out the official trailer for AMC's new series "Fear the Walking Dead," which just debuted at Comic-Con.

Already confirmed for two seasons, the zombie drama is a Los Angeles-set companion piece, and sort-of prequel to the Robert Kirkman-created hit show "The Walking Dead." The preview makes the new series feel like one long horror movie, maybe because the first season is composed of only six hour-long episodes and starts at the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse.

Kim Dickens (Gone Girl) and Cliff Curtis (Bringing Out the Dead, Training Day) stars as a married couple (a school guidance counselor and a teacher) thrown in the middle of the mayhem when a strange flu outbreak turns out to be something much more crazier and deadlier. Now their only concern is to get their teenage children (Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frank Dillane, Lorenzo James Henrie) out of the city before it's too late.

Co-starring Elizabeth Rodriguez and Ruben Blades, "Fear the Walking Dead" will be premiering next month, Sunday August 23rd.

What did the world look like as it was transforming into the horrifying apocalypse depicted in "The Walking Dead"? This spin-off set in Los Angeles, following new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world, will answer that question.
