Netflix has released a new videotape-inspired trailer for "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," the upcoming 8-episode comedy series, which serves as a prequel to the 2001 cult film from comedians David Wain and Michael Showalter.

Set in the fictional "Camp Firewood," the original 1981-set spoof film followed a ridiculous group of camp counselors as they prepared for the last days of summer. The new series will show how the summer season began, despite the fact that the returning ensemble cast (Paul Rudd, Ken Marino, Zak Orth, Joe Lo Truglio, Janeane Garofalo, Judah Friedlander, Michael Showalter) are much, much older now.

Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon and David Hyde Pierce have also returned to reprise their roles. While new cast members will include Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, and Chris Pine.

"Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" premieres on Netflix beginning July 31st.

Camp Firewood is more than just a summer camp. It's a way of life. Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp tells the story of the first day of Camp Firewood's famous summer season, now fourteen years after the film's debut.
