AMC's Humans: Season 1 — Featurette

added: Mon, Jun 15th '15

What happens when your spouse suddenly buys a human-like robot to work as the perfect family maid? AMC's new sci-fi drama series "Humans," starring Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd), Gemma Chan (Submarine) and Oscar-winner William Hurt, is tackling that question as well as exploring the effects it would have on the family's dynamics. In a new behind-the-scenes featurette, watch it above, the cast and crew further describe the mind-provoking series and its enigmatic characters.

Written and executive produced by British writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (TV's Spooks, aka "MI-5"), the eight-episode series is the English-language remake of the critically lauded Swedish robot drama "Real Humans," in which both series are set in a parallel present where human-like robotic servants (called "synth") are the latest high-tech gadgets to be gobbled up by consumers.

AMC will premiere "Humans" this month, starting Sunday, June 28.

Humans, a bold new eight-part drama series from AMC, Channel 4 and Kudos, is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a 'Synth' - a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart.
