Deep Web — Sneak Peek Clip

added: Fri, Mar 13th '15

So, what's the difference between the "Deep Web" and the "Darknet"?

Sure, keeping up with all that internet jargon could be a tricky affair. Good thing, Keanu Reeves -- that's right 'Neo' himself -- is here to explain everything you need to know about the murky, hidden portions of the World Wide Web in this new sneak peek clip from the upcoming documentary about the notorious underground website, Silk Road.

The "Matrix" star serves as narrator of the yet-to-release film "Deep Web," which will be premiering next week at SXSW. The project marks a reunion, of sorts, between Reeves and his "Bill & Ted" co-star Alex Winter, who directed the documentary. It's Winter's second directed internet-themed film, following 2013's Napster documentary "Downloaded."

"Deep Web," which explores the digital crime case of Ross William Ulbricht, who was recently convicted for creating and operating a black-market website called 'Silk Road,' will premiere on the premium cable/VOD network EPIX this spring.

A feature documentary that explores the rise of a new Internet; decentralized, encrypted, dangerous and beyond the law.
