Mad Max: Fury Road — Int'l Trailer

This May, Tom Hardy is going crazy. And here's a quick reminder why that's not necessarily a bad thing.

In the new 60-second, balls-to-the-wall Japanese trailer for the highly-anticipated and long-awaited "Mad Max" sequel, Hardy, taking on the iconic antihero role, claims his world "is fire and blood." And from the looks of things, it's also mayhem and adrenaline, not to mention loads of explosions and wreckage.

This high-octane action thriller, in which veteran Aussie filmmaker George Miller offers the fourth chapter in his beloved apocalyptic film franchise, finds Max getting mixed up in another gas-guzzling fight to the death. This time, it involves a mysterious female warrior with a bionic arm (Charlize Theron) who's escorting a group of runaway girls to safety. Though the plot may only serve as a way to facilitate the film's mind-blowing action stunts as Miller had stated he conceptualized the movie as one long chase sequence.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" opens everywhere on May 15th.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
