The six-episode, British period gangster series "Peaky Blinders," created by acclaimed screenwriter Steven Knight ("Dirty Pretty Things" and "Eastern Promises"), is coming to Netflix next week for its US debut.

The fact-based, 1919-set mob series, starring Cillian Murphy as the leader of a notorious crime family in Birmingham, England, had aired in the UK a year ago, but hasn't been made available in the states until now.

Co-starring Sam Neill and Annabelle Wallis, the first season of "Peaky Blinders" premieres on Netflix beginning on Tuesday, September 30th. (Season two, which airs in the UK in October, is also slated to hit Netflix in November.)

A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, Peaky Blinders centers on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world.
