The first "Gone Girl" TV spot, which originally debuted during Monday night's broadcast of The Emmys, has been released.

The 60-second commercial offers some new footage from director David Fincher's much-anticipated suspense/mystery drama that sees Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, a man suspected of killing his wife, Amy (played by Rosamund Pike), when her sudden disappearance escalates into a full-blown media circus. As the police investigation heats up, so does the sordid details of Nick and Amy's seemingly blissful marriage, including her history of college boyfriends, which included an enigmatic Neil Patrick Harris. So, when Amy's old flame suddenly pops up at Nick's volunteer center, further questions are raised.

Based on the best-selling page-turner by Gillian Flynn, who also adapted the script, "Gone Girl" co-stars Kim Dickens, Tyler Perry, Patrick Fugit and Sela Ward. It opens nationwide on October 3rd.
