Miles Teller can bang a drum pretty loud. But it's nowhere near as loud as the F-bombs that are flying out of J.K. Simmons' mouth in this new profanity-laden trailer for "Whiplash," writer-director Damien Chazelle's much-buzz-about drama involving a young aspiring jazz drummer (Teller) and his overly-aggressive music teacher and band leader (Simmons).

The international trailer begins with Teller and Simmons coming together at a cordial meeting. But it's not long before things get rolling, and the two are seen screaming, sweating and butting heads.

Based on the filmmaker's 2013 award-winning short of the same name, "Whiplash" premiered to rave reviews at this year's Sundance Film Festival, netting both the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize. Since then, Simmons, Teller and Chazelle have been receiving a tremendous amount of buzz, including some Oscar talk, particularly for Simmons' showstopping performance.

"Whiplash" is scheduled to open on October 10th.

synopsis:
Andrew Neyman is a 19-year-old jazz drummer, dreaming of greatness but unsure if his dream will ever come true. Haunted by the failed writing career of his father, Andrew is determined to rise to the top of the country's most elite music conservatory. One night, Terence Fletcher, a conductor equally known for his talent for teaching as he is for the terrifying method of his instruction, discovers Andrew practicing the drums. Even though Fletcher says very little to him that night, he ignites in Andrew a passion to achieve his goal. To Andrew's surprise, the next day, Fletcher requests that he be transferred into his band. This single act changes the young man's life forever...
