Ben Affleck is a wife killer ... or is he? Let your suspicious eye go wild as your peepers feast on the new full-length trailer for "Gone Girl."

It's David Fincher's highly-anticipated adaptation of author Gillian Flynn's bestselling whodunit about a seemingly callous husband (Affleck) who is accused of murdering his wife (Jack Reacher's Rosamund Pike) when she suddenly goes missing. An overblown media circus and an unrelenting investigation turn Affleck into "the most hated man in America" as private details are thrown under a microscope. Did Affleck kill his wife? Well, the "simplest answer" might not always be the "correct" one.

Also penned by Flynn (who has stated she may have altered a few aspects from the book's final act -- though confirms she's preserving its integrity), "Gone Girl" also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Carrie Coon, Patrick Fugit and Sela Ward.

"Gone Girl" opens October 3rd.

GONE GIRL -- directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn -- unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?
