The Wedding Ringer — Trailer

The first trailer for the new comedy "The Wedding Ringer," starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad, has debuted, and it feels like a strange cross between "Hitch" and "I Love You, Man."

Hart, arguably the biggest comedian around, is looking to extend his winning streak, as well as his box office appeal, by starring as the suave owner of a newfangled Best Man service that seeks out soon-to-be married men, who sadly lack the friends to fill out their wedding party.

When Gad's character, a super-successful computer entrepreneur, finds himself scrambling for groomsmen, Hart is not only hired to be his fake Best Man, but also steps in as Gad's unorthodox marriage counselor.

Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco, Juno's Olivia Thirlby, Lost's Jorge Garcia, comedian Affion Crockett, Cloris Leachman and Ken Howard co-star.

Set to open early next year, January 15th, "The Wedding Ringer" was written by Jeremy Garelick (who makes his directorial debut) and Jay Lavender, the screenwriting team behind 2006's "The Break-Up."

Jimmy provides best man services for socially challenged guys, who - for whatever reason - have no one close enough to agree to stand by them on the day of their wedding. Doug, a groom-to-be, has found himself in just such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy's services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.
