Guardians of the Galaxy — New Trailer

What do you call a team of space outlaws who are suddenly given a chance to do something good, something bad and a bit of both? You call them "Guardians of the Galaxy," and they could possibly be the next big superhero film franchise to come out of Marvel Studios.

Check out the film's newest full-length trailer, which delivers the action, as well as the adventure. And not to mention the sly humor, courtesy of a snarky Chris Pratt (NBC's Parks and Recs), who makes his boldest leap into action-hero territory, starring as the intergalactic bandit, Peter Quill, aka "Star-Lord."

After getting arrested for attempting to steal an ancient orb, Quill finds himself in a highly secured penitentiary, where he just so happens to meet his future teammates: Gamora (a green-painted Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (an equally-painted-up Dave Bautista), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and Rocket Raccoon (a gruff voiced Bradley Cooper). But are these lawbreaking interlopers truly destined to save the universe -- "oooh, yeeeah."

With an impressive supporting cast that includes Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Peter Serafinowicz, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker and esteemed actors Glenn Close and Benicio Del Toro in wild cosmic costumes and getups, "Guardians Of The Galaxy," which was directed and co-written by James Gunn (Slither), is looking more and more like the summer movie to beat. We'll have to wait to see, however, when the film arrives on August 1st.

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" finds space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.
