Transformers: Age of Extinction — New Trailer

added: Thu, May 15th '14

It's the "Transformers" trailer you've been waiting for -- the one where a sword-wielding Optimus Prime is riding on the back of a rampaging Grimlock. The fan-favorite Dinobot, which transforms into a metal Tyrannosaurus Rex, is seen spitting out an impressive blast of fire, and getting into a tussle with a couple of Decepticons. But Grimlock's appearance is not the only treat for the eyes as the new trailer offers plenty to "ooh" and "aah" at. Explosions, crashes, steel wreckage, robot-on-robot carnage -- it's pure Michael Bay mayhem.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" takes place four years after the previous film and stars Mark Wahlberg as a tech-savvy, junkyard mechanic. When his latest scrap heap purchase turns out to be a dormant Optimus Prime, he and his family are not only targeted by black-suited government agents but thrown into the middle of an epic invasion. Not long afterwards the blue-collar machinist finds himself acting as the voice of reason to a frustrated Optimus Prime, who is unsure if humankind is worth saving -- especially now that humans are hunting him down.

Co-starring Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Titus Welliver and TJ Miller, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" opens nationwide on June 27th.
