It's ten years later and most of the human population has been wiped out by the simian flu -- but who's to blame: the scientists or the apes?

The new full-length trailer for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" grapples with that question as tension rises between the last remaining human survivors and Caesar's loyal family of 2,000 apes. Jason Clarke and Keri Russell play a couple of ape sympathizers who want to establish a kind of truce, though Gary Oldman has other plans in mind. So, when human spite boils over, and push comes to shove, Caesar (once again played by a motion-captured Andy Serkis) is left with no other choice, but to prepare for war.

UPDATE: an alternative international trailer has also been released, which we have added to the above video playlist.

Directed by Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield), "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" opens in theaters on July 11th.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.
