The Machine — Extended Film Clip

added: Mon, Mar 17th '14

In the futuristic Frankenstein-esque A.I. thriller "The Machine," Arrow's Caity Lotz stars as a humanoid super-robot who was created in a government-controlled laboratory by a British scientist (Black Sail's Toby Stephens) and his recently-deceased America colleague (also Lotz).

"The Machine" was designed to be the ultimate weapon for the new world war between the West and China. Meaning: she's strong as an ox and smart as a whip, but surprisingly, she can also be as gentle as an innocent child. Opening her eyes for the first time makes her happy, and the "dark void" makes her scared. But what makes her "angry"? Well, she's never been angry -- until now.

Check out this new extended film clip for the sci-fi flick, which comes from rising Welsh-born filmmaker Caradog W. James. The film will be made available digitally in the UK this month, before coming to the States on VOD on April 8th and in select US cities on April 25th.

Britain is in a Cold War with a new enemy, the Ministry of Defense is on the brink of developing a game-changing weapon. Lead scientist Vincent McCarthy (Toby Stephens) provides the answer with his creation, ‘The Machine’- an android with unrivaled physical and processing skills. When a programming glitch causes an early prototype to destroy his lab, McCarthy enlists artificial intelligence expert Ava (Caity Lotz) to help him harness the full potential of a truly conscious fighting machine.
