Guardians of the Galaxy — Character Featurettes

added: Thu, Feb 20th '14

We suspect many viewers were "hooked on a feeling" after they saw the recent trailer for Marvel's next possible space-set franchise "Guardians of the Galaxy." But if there's a couple of things to complain about Guardians' first eye-popping preview, it's that we didn't really get to hear the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.

In the upcoming comic book film, Cooper uses his vocal pipes to play "Rocket," the gun-toting raccoon with "anger issues." While the deep-gravelly voice of Rocket's treelike muscle/partner "Groot" belongs to Diesel. So, if you're dying to know more about Cooper and Diesel's involvement in the film, consider yourself lucky as a couple of new character featurettes, profiling both Rocket and Groot, have been released by Marvel. Watch it, above.

Update: Marvel has released a few more "Guardian" featurettes, this time focusing on the green-skinned assassin Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana), the vengeful tank warrior known as Drax the Destroyer (played by former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista) and the misfit anti-hero Peter Quill aka Star Lord (Chris Pratt). We added those clips in the playlist that's embedded above.

"Guardians of the Galaxy," which is written and directed by James Gunn, is set to open on August 1st.

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" finds space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.
