The LEGO Movie — Blooper Reel

added: Fri, Feb 14th '14

Proving that animated characters aren't immune to mistakes, a newly-released blooper reel for "The LEGO Movie" provides a great chuckle to those who would love to see a block-headed Batman make a fool of himself by showing his age and devising up a new idea for a backpack that contains the "arms of an armchair."

The animated film, from directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, had turned out to be a major hit at the box office when it opened last week with one of the biggest February openings ever, but making it, as it turns out, wasn't always smooth sailing. This clip -- though clearly enhanced with staged animation -- appears to use actual voice recording outtakes, and Morgan Freeman's frustrated bit about "a lot of loose pages" reminds us of that classic 70s Orson Welles "Frozen Peas" sound bite. Some funny stuff, above.

The first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO adventure: The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
