BBC's Sherlock: Season 3 — Trailer

Is it possible for a TV show to become even bigger after a long two-year break? Well, if that show is about a brilliant British sleuth thought to be dead, the elementary answer is "oooh, hell yeah!" The acclaimed BBC drama "Sherlock" finally comes back in January with its third season, and here's a peek at the episodes that await.

In the 60-second trailer, we see Benedict Cumberbatch returning as the titular self-absorbed bloodhound who is back in London after spending the last two years faking his own death -- a scheme that required Sherlock to keep his loyal sidekick, Dr. John Watson (played by returning Martin Freeman), in the dark. But as it turns out, Watson has now moved on with his life and is not really interested about the hows of Sherlock's masterly deception: "I don't care how you faked it ... I want to know why." That reason might not be as important as why Sherlock has returned to London as city officials have raised the terror alert to critical: "Welcome to my world."

"Sherlock: Season 3" premieres in England on New Year's Day. Although, the BBC drama will debut in the States a few weeks later, January 19th, on PBS.

Time has passed, the terror alert has been raised to critical, and Sherlock has returned to confront the one person who matters most.
