The Canadian trailer for the new quirky rom-com "The Right Kind of Wrong" has been released, and it sees True Blood's Ryan Kwanten as a down-and-out writer named Leo whose failed life gets increasingly worse after becoming the subject of his ex-wife's successful blog called "Why You Suck." But when he circumstantially comes across the woman of his dreams (on the day of her wedding, no less), Leo becomes determined to break out of his downward spiral and win her over by any means necessary -- even if he has to overcome his fear of heights and hang glide his way into her heart.
Based on a Tim Sandlin's novel, the film was helmed by Jeremiah Chechik (the Montreal-born director whose credits include Johnny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson's 1993 cult romantic dramedy "Benny & Joon" and the 1989 comedy hit "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"). It also stars Sara Canning, Kristen Hager, Jennifer Baxter, Catherine O'Hara, and Will Sasso.
"The Right Kind of Wrong" will be making its world premiere at next month's Toronto International Film Festival before opening theatrically in Canada starting on October 11th. An official U.S. release date is currently unknown.
In this new romantic comedy, The Right Kind of Wrong, Leo Palamino is a failed-writer-turned-dishwasher made famous for his many flaws and shortcomings in a blog called Why You Suck, a huge Internet success written by his ex-wife. Then Leo meets Colette, the girl of his dreams on the day she is marrying the perfect man. And so, the ultimate underdog story begins as Leo, a fearless dreamer, risks all to show Colette and the whole wide world all that is right with a man famous for being wrong.
