KIM Jee-Woon did it. Chan-wook PARK did it. Now, it's time for Korean filmmaker BONG Joon-ho to make his English-language debut. Although, Bong's "Snowpiercer," a post-apocalyptic thriller about an ever-moving train filled with the last remaining human survivors as the world is engulfed by snow and ice, is not a Hollywood production, but an exciting international endeavor. It's based on a French comic book, produced with both Korean and European money and has a talented cast that's mixed with American, English and Korean actors, which includes Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt, Ed Harris, and veteran Korean actor Kang-ho Song.

In the brand-new 60-second international trailer (above), Evans is seen playing a disgruntled passenger who hates riding in the back of the train with the rest of his poverty-stricken class while the wealthy people are living luxuriously in the front. Filthy, hungry and fed up. He plans a sizable uprising and a risky goal to take over the train's engine. And soon, discovers that the price for comfort will have to be paid in blood.

"Snowpiercer" is expected to hit Stateside sometime later in the year, but will debut first in Korea this summer.

Based on the French graphic novel "Le Transperceneige," the film is set in a future where a failed experiment to stop global warming creates an ice age that kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train, but a revolution brews. (via
