Runner, Runner — Trailer

added: Thu, Jun 6th '13

Screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien exposed the seedy world of underground poker in their streetwise script for 1998's "Rounders." The writing duo is now returning this year with a new betting-themed drama called "Runner, Runner," starring Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck, and Gemma Arterton. However this time, the scribes are exposing the inner workings of online gambling.

Directed by Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer), the film sees Timberlake as a clever college student with an unhealthy knack for internet betting. After crossing paths with a cocky gaming mogul (Affleck) whose offshore company is raking in huge profits from online gambling, Timberlake's character becomes his devoted protege. But when the FBI starts digging into their business, their teacher/student relationship takes a nasty turn.

"Runner, Runner" is slated to open in theaters on September 27th. In the meantime, check out the film's debut trailer, which is embedded above.

Princeton grad student Richie (Justin Timberlake), believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block (Ben Affleck). Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
