Byzantium — US Trailer

Saoirse Ronan has a secret that she has kept for a very long time. But in the U.S. trailer for Neil Jordan's new horror drama "Byzantium," she comes right out and says it: "My name is Eleanor Webb. My mother lives on human blood, and has done for two centuries."

Well, you don't have to be Sherlock to figure this one out: Gemma Arterton (who plays Eleanor's forever youthful mother) is a vampire, which would make Eleanor a vampire-in-training. Unfortunately, Eleanor is having a difficult time keeping her blood-sucking secrets buried. Especially, when she meets a lonely boy (played by Caleb Landry Jones) from a small seaside town, and feels he's the only soul she can truly talk to. If she's not careful, her heartfelt relationship could be the very thing that exposes the well-hidden society of vamps. And what will her mother say about that? Not good things, that's for sure.

"Byzantium" also stars Sam Riley and Jonny Lee Miller. It will open theatrically in the States on June 28th.

Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.
