The very first trailer for the highly-anticipated Hunger Games sequel "Catching Fire" premiered during Sunday's airing of the MTV Movie Awards. The televised teaser has luckily dropped online, giving non-MTV viewers a titillating look at the second movie installment of Suzanne Collins best-selling book series, which stars Jennifer Lawrence as the returning District 12 hero.
This time a new director, Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants, I Am Legend), is at the helm, while the dystopian drama continues the traumatic story of Katniss Everdeen, who joins fellow Hunger Games champion Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) on an involuntary victory tour through the districts. It seems Katniss and Peeta's unusual actions in the contest has inspired a surging rebellion, which forces President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and new Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) to add a few new rules to their annual death tournament.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" opens nationwide on November 22nd.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) -- a competition that could change Panem forever.
