Jordan Vogt-Roberts' feature directorial debut "The Kings of Summer" (formerly known as Toy's House) was apparently one of the surprise hits of this year's Sundance. It seems audiences were bowled over by the coming-of-age story about three teenage boys (played by Nick Robinson, Moises Arias, and Gabriel Basso) who come up with an unusual plan to spend their summer break building a treehouse in the woods in order to hide from their parents. The film was recently picked up by CBS Films. And after releasing a quick teaser and featurette, the studio has finally dropped a full-length trailer online, giving a greater look at the film's first-rate cast which includes Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Megan Mullally. Watch it, above.
"The Kings of Summer" due to open on May 31st.
THE KINGS OF SUMMER is a unique coming-of-age comedy about three teenage friends – Joe (Nick Robinson), Patrick (Gabriel Basso) and the eccentric and unpredictable Biaggio (Moises Arias) - who, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. Free from their parents’ rules, their idyllic summer quickly becomes a test of friendship as each boy learns to appreciate the fact that family - whether it is the one you’re born into or the one you create – is something you can't run away from.
