The new 3D animated family movie "Escape From Planet Earth," about the misadventures of two blue-colored alien brothers (voiced by Brendan Fraser and Rob Corddry), is coming to theaters next week. But despite a pretty charming trailer that was released in November, we haven't seen much promotion. Well, we guess it's better late than never. Because the Weinstein Company (the studio that has penciled "Escape" for a February 14th theatrical release) has just dropped a massive 20-minute-plus featurette on the internet. So, if you haven't heard about the movie yet, then feast your eyes.
In the film, Fraser voices a dimwitted (yet, gutsy) alien astronaut named Scorch Supernova. When he foolishly travels to Earth, he unexpectedly gets caught by the US government. Now it's up to his brilliant tech-wiz brother (Corddry) to break him out of Area 51. The film will also feature the voices of Jane Lynch, Sarah Jessica Parker, George Lopez, Craig Robinson and William Shatner. Watch the cast talk about the movie in great detail in the clip, posted above.
The 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA's no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner), it's up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing. As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure-hungry son Kip.
