Fast & Furious 6 — Super Bowl Spot

added: Sun, Feb 3rd '13

Do you realize we're only three short months away until "Fast & Furious 6" hits theaters on May 24th -- so, why haven't we seen any actual footage until now? Well, the answer can be summed up in two short words: SUPER BOWL! Universal Pictures thought it would be wise to hold off from releasing a full-length trailer, and instead premiere a 60-second commercial during one of the most-watched televised events of the year, aka The Super Bowl. Okay, guess we're cool with that.

In case, you missed it, here it is (above), showing us the first glimpses of the sixth chapter of the action franchise. This time, car-driving outlaws Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner (Vin Diesel and Paul Walker) will be working with federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) on a new death-defying mission, in order to receive full pardons. "Fast 6" is again directed by Justin Lin (his fourth Fast film) and will also have the return of Michelle Rodriguez's bad-girl character, Letty -- while Immortals' Luke Evans and Haywire's Gina Carano are the newest additions to the series.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe.  But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.  Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
