Unless, you're living near a movie theater in China. You won't be able to buy a ticket to Wong Kar-wai's long-awaited martial-arts epic "The Grandmaster" (which opens later in the year in the US). But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the film's breathtaking trailer. It has English subtitles too, along with amazing punches and kicks in slow-motion rain effects. Check it out, above.
Kar-wai's longtime collaborator Tony Leung Chiu-wai (In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express) stars in the 1930s-set film about the early days of the legendary martial arts master Ip Man -- He's famously known for being Bruce Lee's teacher, and since his death in the 70s, has been immortalized (and essentially turned into a folk legend) in a number of Chinese films. In this new take on Ip Man's life, it tells the story of how he won the title of Grandmaster (which apparently he had to do a lot of ass-kicking). Zhang Ziyi and Chang Chen (both from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" fame) co-star as a couple of ruthless adversaries yearning for that illustrious title.
Next week, the film makes its European debut at the Berlin Film Festival, which according to reports will feature a new 120-minute version (10 minutes shorter than the original cut). It seems Kar-wai is still re-tweaking his film, despite already becoming a bonafide blockbuster in China. Go figure!

One day he is trapped in this battleground so he has to use every means in order to get out of there. The masters are amazed by his abilities. Master Kung and his daughter Kung Yi are amongst, and the latter is attracted to this newcomer. A high warlord is assassinated by his own guard Yi Xian Tian.
