Now that the Harry Potter film series is done, Rupert Grint is taking a step out of his comfort zone. In his first role since Ron Weasley, the ginger-haired actor will be seen in an entirely new way, playing a scrappy member of a British crew of pilots in the WWII drama "Into The White." Directed by Norway-born helmer Petter Naess, the film dramatizes the real-life story of a small group of British servicemen who, after getting shot down by the Nazis, find themselves stuck in a tiny log cabin with their German counterparts during the icy winter conditions of the Norwegian mountains.
And as we see in this newly-released domestic trailer, the relationship between the two rival camps starts off extremely rocky. However, when the thought of dying from starvation begins to settle in their minds, the men come to the realization that in order to make it through the brutal winter, they will have to squash any conflicted feelings about each other.
After opening internationally in theaters last year, "Into The White" will finally be making its way to the States (via Magnolia Pictures) starting on April 12th. The film also stars David Kross, Florian Lukas, Lachlan Nieboer and Stig Henrik Hoff.
High above the harsh Norwegian wilderness, English and German pilots shoot each other to the ground after a violent chance encounter. Isolated, they must fight to survive the brutal winter. Though war has made them enemies, antagonism is hard to maintain as days go by. Through mutual need, unlikely friendships bloom. Somehow, they become comrades. War, after all, is absurd.
